Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) is emerging as an Authoritative Source of Truth and foundational enabler for the development and integration of Digital Twin ( DTw ) technologies with physical systems. The concept of the DTw has evolved from static virtual models into dynamic, continuously updated digital representations of their physical twins. This talk examines how MBSE provides the structural backbone that allows integration of DTw s to achieve higher-fidelity system-behavior analysis throughout the system lifecycle. By integrating MBSE methodologies with high-fidelity system simulation and real-time data integration, DTw s can provide enhanced capabilities for requirement change analysis, system validation, performance monitoring, predictive maintenance, and design decision support.
