Airspace congestion is increasing rapidly, raising the risk of collisions across both aviation and space operations. Recent incidents—ranging from mid-air hazards over the Potomac River to damage of returning space capsules by orbital debris—highlight the urgent need for integrated air-space traffic awareness. This project proposes a real-time simulation and monitoring system that fuses live data on aircraft, satellites, and other objects operating in shared airspace. The platform will ingest continuous streams from sources such as ADS-B and ISU to provide a dynamic, real-time view of aircraft and space object trajectories. Using AI and physics-based projected path analysis and predictive modeling, the system will identify emerging collision risks and support large-scale airspace situational awareness. It will also enable proactive flight rerouting during temporary flight restrictions (TFRs), including those associated with rocket launches and space operations. By integrating air and space traffic into a unified, scalable simulation environment, this project establishes a foundational capability for safer space traffic management, more efficient airspace operations, and next-generation air-space coordination.
